Grooming

Keep your pet clean, healthy and as adorable as ever with our professional grooming services!

Rosemary is our experienced pet groomer. She is patient, detail oriented, and can take care of all your pet’s grooming needs. Nail trimming, ear cleaning, bathing, and a beautiful haircut are all part of her service. Grooming appointments can also include anal gland expression with our veterinary technicians.

Benefits of professional grooming

Besides making your pet look and smell good, grooming provides health benefits. Some cat and dog breeds (especially those with long hair that mats easily) may need assistance keeping themselves clean.

Regular brushing helps remove dead hair, mats, and dirt and distributes natural oils throughout the fur, keeping the coat clean and healthy. Trimming hair around the face, ears, paw pads, and other areas can help prevent infections and irritation. Keeping nails trimmed can prevent joint pain and stiffness.

Animals that are older or have physical disabilities may also benefit from grooming services. If your pet struggles with grooming themselves, it can be a sign of an underlying health issue. Be sure to mention this when you schedule an appointment. You can also call us anytime to discuss your concerns.

Managing Fear or Aggression

Some pets may become fearful or aggressive when being groomed. Our team is used to handling stressed, anxious or aggressive animals with the following techniques:

  • A quiet, peaceful environment

  • Offering treats

  • Frequent breaks

We are pleased to offer vet-supervised sedation for grooming right here in Northumberland! If your pet is especially fearful or aggressive, we can give them medicine to help them stay calm or make them sleepy to provide a stress-free experience and safety for your pet and the groomer. Please call us to learn more and book your grooming appointment.

We want your pet to enjoy their day at the spa! Dogs and cats are equally welcome.
